They are a lovely dog. Friend of mine had one. She had it debarked which I thought was so wrong.

Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs (Sheltie's) are alike in personality and disposition. They are beautiful dogs. Thanks!

They are a lovely dog. Friend of mine had one. She had it debarked which I thought was so wrong. Wonder why a dog would be debarked? That's how they talk!

They debark some Collies and Shelties because they are barkers. I think it's better to get a shock collar that helps cut down on barking. I had one for my Sheltie and it didn't hurt her, and it did help.

They debark some Collies and Shelties because they are barkers. I think it's better to get a shock collar that helps cut down on barking. I had one for my Sheltie and it didn't hurt her, and it did help.
I know why it's done but I don't agree with it like declawing a cat or splintering the ears of a doberman to make its ears stand up. If that was supposed to be that way, they would have been made that way. Animals have sound, etc for a purpose.

Yeah she was a barker so that is why she had her debarked. I thought it was cruel.
